Welcome to the Milton Schoolhouse's new web home.
If you are just finding us through the magic of the interwebs, we are very active on Facebook. In fact, if you're interested in the latest developments at the school, our Facebook page is updated just about everyday with photos, shop updates, and news of our progress.
Allow me to introduce myself- my name is Meredith and I'm the mostly reliable narrator of the Milton Schoolhouse web presence. Occasionally you'll hear from my wonderful husband Joel, who co-owns the schoolhouse, but for the most part he's buried up to his eyebrows in the dust of renovation.
In 2009, Joel and I started The Vivant Project, LLC and purchased The Milton Schoolhouse. We've had a dream ever since to make it a thriving hub of community business and arts, a haven for innovation and economic freedom for entrepreneurs in the riverfront area.
The word "Vivant" itself is derived from the French "vivre" meaning "to live". And, after years of abandonment and neglect, this place truly has come to life again. Our passion is to help talented folks live out and off of their passions. That's the short of it, if you'd like to really look into the heart and soul of this place- read this.
We are truly grateful to the many beautiful people who have come to help us bring this old building to life. Please feel free to get to know us a little more, and, if you're so inclined, help support our ongoing projects by clicking on the support tab above (it'll link you to our etsy shop and our donation button).
Thank you so much! <3
